English Dub Review: Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer “Amamiya Yuuhi and Asahina Samidare”
Overview
Yuuhi learns of the reason Samidare wishes to destroy the Earth, and he continues to train himself every day to hone his new powers. However, the twisted “discipline” Yuuhi received from his grandfather continues to bind him like cursed chains. During that time, Yuuhi receives word from his home that his grandfather has fallen ill and been hospitalized…
Our Take
It’s clear that Yuuhi’s grandpa really messed with his head. Although his grandfather must have been mentally unwell chaining the kid up like that which could easily and understandably traumatize the guy. I can kind of see why the character’s got this very “dead” personality. Though why he never told his mother or anyone else within his family feels like a massive plot hole.
For now, Yuuhi under the tutelage of Samidare, he’s slowly coping with his powers in order to defeat the monsters soon. His own world that got clashed with his own grandpa’s feud, as well as Samidare’s proposition to destroy the Biscuit Hammer to have her own world in her own control.
Overall, for Yuuhi having a bit of a tragic backstory, he’s surprisingly well adjusted. You’d think someone who was told not to get close to anyone, not to love or bet loved, would be a lot more withdrawn. But at the very least, he’s got the little lizard, and he remains on friendly terms with Samidare. Those three have really hit it off. There are still just a lot of questions, but it looks like Yuuhi is beginning to grasp his power more and more. Though I have no idea where this is going through…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
