The moment the culture festival reached its finale, the jewel object made by Shirogane was stolen by a phantom thief who calls himself Arsène. Kaguya and the others headed to the roof where the phantom thief keeps appearing, but there was no one there. Fujiwara, who transformed into a genius detective, struggles to solve the mystery behind the calling card and uncover the thief’s true identity. But Kaguya left behind at the scene of the crime, had begun to figure out the criminal. The problem is the location. Kaguya traced the phantom thief’s line of thinking and headed to where he is now…
Shroud in a cape and dressed in the guise of the phantom thief Arsène, Shirogane waited for Kaguya’s arrival atop the clock tower roof overlooking Shuchiin. When asked why he would do such a thing, Shirogane answered that there was something he wanted to show Kaguya. The festival’s afterparty has already begun as the sun set over this school and the students could be seen encircling and enjoying the bonfire. While the emotions that could not be expressed with words mingled between Shirogane and Kaguya’s hearts… Shirogane carried out his ultra-romantic operation!!
Our Take:
There comes that moment in any good rom-com where it’s time to shit or get off the pot. This was that moment for Kaguya-sama and my boy Shirogane nailed it. I was a huge fan of the manga and was really anxious to see this part animated but A-1 Pictures has been doing a phenomenal job with this and you can tell they care about the source material.
Huge shoutout to Clifford Chapin AGAIN for holding down this season for Aaron Dismuke. He did such a great job. He needs more subdued roles like this so he doesn’t have to injure his vocal cords quite so much. Nothing against Aaron but I almost liked Clifford in the role a bit more, but I suppose we will see where they go from here.
As far as anime confessions go, this is one of the best. I know I have said this multiple times before but this anime is a classic in the making. This will be up there with Toradora as one of the best anime rom-coms you can watch. Though to be fair I am pretty sure the manga for this is still ongoing so this will also have a lot more content to watch.
How will all of this change everything for the Student Council? Well, there is an anime movie project in the works for this series so that will probably be where we get a few of those questions answered. I am wondering if they might just end it with the movie but I hope not. This might be the closest we get to a sitcom in anime form so I would be really upset to see it end. But if they finish it out the right way I wouldn’t mind too bad. This has already got way more seasons than I thought it would. Stick around for my season review next week! Spoiler alert: This anime is fantastic and you should watch it.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
