English Dub Review: The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made “Crying Out Love in the Center of Another World”
Overview:
Artoria and Seiichi both struggle with their feelings for each other. They have to figure out how to tell one another how they truly feel.
Our Take:
Artoria avoids Seiichi after he gave her the ring of happiness. She receives advice on how to accept her love for Seiichi and how to confess it to him.
Meanwhile, Seiichi tries to learn more about this new world. He ends up gaining a lot of overpowered and broken skills and meets some characters who may or may not be important in the future. He also gets advice on how to confess his feelings to Artoria.
In the end, Artoria tells Seiichi she loves him despite the fact that he’s in love with Saria. She still wants to be around him. It seems like Seiichi is going to tell Artoria he can’t return her love, but Saria says she wants to share him with Artoria. Then Seiichi changes his mind and starts himself a harem.
To be fair, it seems like Seiichi may have feelings for Artoria, but it still feels forced. In fact, it feels even more forced than when he confessed his love to Saria. The reason being it feels like he is coerced into telling Artoria he loves her just so she won’t be left out.
I’ve said before that I think Artoria is the strongest character in the show, but I’m worried that she’ll start to deteriorate now that she’s in a polygamous relationship with two far weaker characters.
The war plot is mentioned a little bit. In fact, characters are self-aware that the other high school kids aren’t doing anything to prepare for the upcoming war. I’m glad the show realizes it, but how about actually doing something about it instead?
Seiichi is also self-aware about how ridiculous it is that he just keeps gaining new skills by doing nothing to earn them. That doesn’t really matter though because he’s still minus a personality and odds are he’ll still use those skills anyway.
I know the point of this episode is to feel happy for Seiichi and company, but I really don’t. I don’t care enough about these characters and honestly, I don’t think Seiichi deserves to have a harem. At least with Artoria, it makes sense as to why she falls in love with him. if it was just her and Seiichi, it might not be as bad. Since Saria is thrown in the mix though, I’m really not feeling it.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
