English Dub Review: Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It r=1-sinθ “Science-types Fell in Love, So They Tried Confessing Their Feelings to Their Juniors”

Overview:

Kosuke enjoyed his date with his beloved Aika. They did things like shop for clothes and watch a movie. In the midst of his fun, Kosuke watched Kanade, her date, and a lot of other couples up close. He ends up being made aware he was the only one playing with dolls, and the feeling makes him scream and cry. Meanwhile, Kanade is still in shock from the words Shikijou said to her on their date: “You didn’t seem normal.” Seeing this, Yukimura asks Kanade for the definition of “normal,” and declares that living with an obsession about being “normal” is a truly stupid way to live.

Our Take:

This review was a bit tough for me because the first season of this show was the second time I watched an anime with a Billy Kametz-voiced character. I was really sad he wasn’t able to reprise the role but now after what happened last week, it’s bittersweet. This show and Shield Hero were my introductions to Billy so they will always hold a special place in my heart. Nothing against Alejandro Saab, he does a fantastic job filling in. I’m sure this week was hard for him and a lot of other people in the industry.

As for the episode, it was very good. I liked how Kosuke is questioning a few of his feelings about a 2D girl but meanwhile, Ibarada supports him in her own special way. I look forward to seeing where that thread goes. As for Kanade, Himuro and Yukimura are trying to find out about her past. I was a little disappointed it was more of a comedic traumatic past but hey that’s the type of show this is. The episode ends with Kanade really laying into Yukimura about being normal so I wonder what is going to happen to their friendship after this episode.
