English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “No Regrets: Part 2”

Overview:

Levi’s group joins the Scout Regiment, but they bring with them a hidden agenda. The upcoming expedition beyond the walls seems like the perfect opportunity to carry out their plan.

Our Take:

You know Erwin is a great commander when he even makes the people who want to kill him join the cause. It was interesting to see a new side to Erwin, he always had to be a little cold and removed because of the nature of his job but it almost seemed like he really didn’t care about anyone who would die. Not only him but we got a new side to Levi as well, he really cared about his friends and that was something he had never really shown before.

I do love how much of a clean freak Levi is, his quarters were so dirty that he was appalled that he had to live there. We all knew what fate awaited Levi’s friends but I was a bit disappointed in how they met their end offscreen. Though I will admit that their corpses were some of the most haunting ones since Levi’s squad met their end way back in season one.

Once again Matthew Mercer showed his talent. Getting to see a new side of Levi means that Matthew gets to flex a different side of him as well. Levi isn’t typically one to show a lot of emotion but he was the epitome of rage in this one. Great way to show some backstory of one of the biggest fan favorites.
