English Dub Review: Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs “It’s Awesome”
Overview (Spoilers Ahead):
Leon goes one-on-one with Prince Julius and wins. He expects to leave the academy and prepares for this. He also invites Angelica and Olivia to his home.
Our Take:
We pick up where left off last time with the final round of the duel. Leon still has the same smug and condescending attitude he’s had the whole time. However, this is all part of his plan.
During the battle, Julius explains that he loves Marie because she sees him for who he is instead of just his title. Olivia tries to explain to Julius that Angelica really loves him, but he he doesn’t think it’s true love. Ultimately, Leon defeats Julius with ease.
The stunt Leon pulled could lead to some consequences, so he expects to leave the academy. He meets with Angelica’s father in attempt to lessen any punishment dealt to him and his family. This deal is successful, but only if Leon takes Angelica to somewhere country to help take her mind off of Julius.
Leon brings her and Olivia to his home. Angelica makes it clear that she is grateful for what Leon has done and we also see her bond with Leon and Olivia. They become friends and the ladies even ask the others to use nicknames to signify their friendship.
Leon expects a harsh punishment, but he actually gets knighted instead. Most of the students at the academy still hate his guts, but he’s not alone now since he has Olivia and Angelica by his side.
In this episode, Julius tells Angelica to stay out of his life, which officially ends their relationship. Plus, he and his entourage all denounce their nobility in favor of being with Marie. Marie is distraught because the whole reason she hooked up with this group was because of their status. Of course, these gentlemen are unaware of that.
There’s a lot to process here, but the story remains engaging. Leon is as pleasantly instigating as ever and it’s nice to see him form strong friendships. I’m also coming around on Angelica. She seemed like Angelica typical stuck-up rich girl at first, but she’s much more self-aware. She says she’s a terrible person and while she has done terrible things, it seems like she truly wants to change. That’s admirable and she’s becoming much more pleasant to watch.
Things are slowly starting to look up for Leon. Only time will tell if his life will continue to improve and of course, if he will ever find a wife.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
