English Dub Review: The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest “The Strongest Sage Goes on a Journey Again”
Overview
Zardias is too powerful an opponent even for Matthias. The odds of victory lie in a magic sword kept inside the royal treasury, but it needs to get into Matthias’ hands…
Our Take
While Alma and Lurie race to find the magic sword in the treasury and face demons already encountered on the ground, Matthias and Iris (in her dragon form) face Zardias, in the worst face-off he couldn’t have imagined to protect himself, Iris and the kingdom all at once. Matty’s teachings to the Second Academy also manage to have a proper payoff in this counterattack, and Lurie managed to pass him the sword, but it was all too late as it dropped his guard against Zardias.
But with the magic sword, You’d think the whole “race against time” gimmick would’ve worked to make us emotionally invested, but just when you think the worst has happened it plays with your expectations in a very unique way while leaving things on a very open-ended note…
Overall, this episode was pretty enjoyable, and seems like this is not the end. While the visuals were good, the animation was average, this was quite a good episode to end on. As of right now, It’s currently unclear if Season 2 ever becomes a thing, but at least it doesn’t drag with pointless drama that most series would often do near the end of a season and I wasn’t left annoyed despite the open-ending.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
