At last, the agent behind the demon activity in Melkia and Folkia reveals himself… and the revelation fills even Matthias with terror. Can Alma and Lurie retrieve a powerful magical weapon before it’s too late?

Our Take

Looks like the demon Giluas fought last episode was just a test for Matty and the rest. But at least Giluas definitely had his fun, comedic moments such as pwning off Folkia to ordinary folk while he’s the provincial lord, that’s for sure. But Giluas doesn’t seem like the type who pursues political power, and endlessly wants to improve his own physical and magical skills just fine, and for him to assume temporary control and authority for the briefest time to appoint a provisional local lord, that’s all there was to it…

The final journey to locate the demon’s boss starts from his own past creation as Gaius in a hidden chamber full of weapons and food, which is his own experimental lab before his reincarnation. And the final boss (which was hinted at since episode 8) goes by the name of Zardias, the most dangerous demon whose seal is broken, with Matty and his all-female crew in their current states, even if powered all the way up, it still wouldn’t be enough to take that fucker down. But after 10 episodes, this seems to be the ONLY time where Matty really needs all the help he could get.

Overall the stakes were legitimately raised for the upcoming season finale. And with Zardias incoming, only Alma and Lurie can do the job of finding that one last magic sword while he and Iris hold him off. And that King near the end, I like him, he’s not idiotic, prideful, useless, obstructive, or playing some political power chess-like other cliche kings on other isekai titles. This feels like a legit final battle with humanity on the line, and with one episode left, will they be able to send that weapon to Matty in time to stop Zardias for good??
