English Dub Review: Takt Op. Destiny “Let the Performance Begin -Showtime-”

Overview

10 days after Destiny’s appearance, Takt and Destiny learn how to fight properly from Lenny and Titan as they continue to make their way to New York. However, Takt and Destiny still have a hard time being in sync. They then coincidentally run into Lenny’s old buddy Jonathan who then proceeds to lead them around his home in Las Vegas…

Our Take

In a nutshell, this was basically a training episode teaching the basics with Lenny giving the floor to let Takt and Destiny work as a team and “Harmonize”. I think the episode was better than the last three mostly because it tried to do something in regards to the theme. Looking at Lenny’s friends though it’s nice to see that while the D2s have taken so much from them that their sense of hope has not been lost.

Even at this time when the D2s are forcing everyone to stay silent, it seems human greed is still pretty prevalent. Because Las Vegas wouldn’t be Las Vegas if we didn’t see a casino scene, even in a series like this one. No surprise that the owner of the cornfields Mr. Lang secretly had some dirty dealings of his own to fund the casino, but at least it felt like karma that the D2s would spawn and wreck the place up.

Overall, the plot will be moving forward with the next episode now that it feels like the backstory and stuff is finally done. The lessons that Lenny imparted upon them at the casino sure were fun but provided an excellent opportunity for both Takt and Destiny to learn how to work together. It’s a shame that both Lenny and Titan have to part ways here, obviously, since all of this happened chronologically before episode 1, but I do hope they return down the line.
