English Dub Review: Spy x Family “THE TARGET’S SECOND SON”

Overview:

Anya ends up with a Tonitrus Bolt after she hit Damian Desmond. Sadly, this causes her to stand out for the wrong reasons in class which depresses her, but she ends up friends with Becky, and school becomes a little more fun. She also tries to apologize to Damian for hitting him, but just can’t seem to get the words out. For the sake of Operation Strix, Loid disguises himself as someone who works at the school and tries to help Anya reconcile from the shadows, but…

Our Take:

Anya spends almost the whole episode trying to apologize to Damian. Becky keeps interfering but in a cute, friendly way. I think the school stuff will be fun but I also want to keep up with Loid and Yor, this whole family dynamic is interesting. It was really refreshing how after Yor tries to give Loid advice on Anya, Loid didn’t get angry with her. Though it might help with Anya not actually being his daughter.

While Anya eventually got to apologize to Damian, he didn’t accept the apology, however. But from what I can gather from Damian’s reaction to Anya, and my extensive experience with romance anime, I think Damian has a little crush. So maybe Loid can meet Damian’s father at the wedding? That might take longer than the world has time for though…
