English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “The Dawn of Humanity”
Overview:
Regardless of where it all began, Eren commits to his path of destruction during the Scouts’ first visit to the Marleyan mainland, leaving Mikasa to wonder if things could’ve been different.
Our Take:
I am running out of ways to describe how great this anime is. Each episode is better than the last, I just wish it didn’t have to end. At the beginning of the episode, I was a bit confused, I thought that maybe we were seeing an alternate reality or something. But it turns out that everyone visited Marley long before Eren began his assault to see if peace was an option. It was really bittersweet to see Sasha again. Her dopey attitude brought a lot of laughs and levity to the show, and I really missed her.
We had one of the worst missed confessions in history here. Mikasa couldn’t quite answer Eren honestly when he asked what he was to her. The only problem with this failed confession and others in anime is that this one might have doomed the whole planet. But it has always been hard for Mikasa to say how she feels about Eren. There were definitely signs of what Eren was about to do and I think some of that does fall to his friends. I think Eren will go down as one of the more tragic figures in anime history.
This “Final Season” isn’t quite final yet. Once again Attack on Titan leaves us with a colossal (pun intended) cliffhanger. The Rumbling has begun in earnest and it is even more terrifying than I could imagine. I just hope I get to cover the actual (hopefully) final season when it comes rumbling in 2023.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
