Disney Announces Bevy Of Star Wars Animation At Recent Event
Disney+ just launched the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series to great fanfare, but animation fans won’t have to wait long for new Star Wars content. At the recent Star Wars Celebration event, Disney announced a number of upcoming animated projects in the pipeline for Disney+ for the next couple of years including the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch which is set to premiere it’s second season in Fall 2022.
Also slated to come later this year, a new six-part shorts series, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi which takes place before the prequel trilogy and are more-or-less an adaptation of the popular Dark Horse Comics in the late nineties. Already slated to return for the series is Liam Neeson reprising his role as Qui-Gon and a number of voices from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels including Matt Lanter as “Anakin” and Corey Burton as “Dooku”. Ahsoka Tano, Bail Organa, Mace Windu, Yaddle, and Ponda Baba will also be a part of the series.
Last, but not least, the anime-inspired Star Wars: Visions will get a second season drop sometime in Spring 2023. You can read our review of Volume 1 here.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
