English Dub Review: Saiyuuki Reload: Zeroin “Oasis”

Overview:

While Sanzo travels with Hazel and Gat, the rest of the group finds themselves in a town populated with demons.

Our Take:

Sanzo and the gang have split. For a while at least, and that leaves Goku, Gojyo, and Hakkai in a tough predicament. They have to fend for themselves and find a way to feed themselves too. Guess that Sanzo was the brains of the entire operation. Also got confirmation in this episode that the three of them are in fact demons of some kind. So I think that is pretty interesting.

There is a lot of trouble brewing between the village of demons and the nearby human town. Especially, when their only source of water runs dry. It also just so happens that Sanzo and Hazel are in that human town. What will happen when the inevitable fight breaks out? I feel like with how these demons are portrayed they should be able to live with humans. Honestly, the only thing holding this show back is the bar of entry. There must be some past series that I need to watch to understand this one a little bit more. It’s still been a pretty fun ride so far.
