English Dub Review: Saiyuuki Reload: Zeroin “Atonement”

Overview:

Hazel recalls when he discovered his powers as well as his first encounter with Gat.

Our Take:

While this episode gave some good and interesting backstory, if it’s for characters I don’t really care about then what’s the point? Sure this could be a way to get us to care about them but it failed if that was the goal. Gat I did care about and seeing how he and Hazel met actually made me dislike Hazel more. I’m a bit surprised that Gat doesn’t have any sort of grudge against Hazel either. Sure if he would have just resurrected him, not knowing how the tribe would react that’s one thing. But he was the reason that he died in the first place.

That was most of the episode. Still don’t know why Sanzo is continuing to hang out with these guys. I was really interested in what was going on with Goku and the gang but we are hanging out with these guys instead. The show was starting to get really good with that crew but now we are with these guys it seems.
