English Dub Review: Orient “You Can’t Survive Underwater”

Overview:

Musashi and Kojiro are out to obtain the Kitetsu Blades they’ll need to fight oni, but a mysterious ritual involving the mystical swords might prove to be an unexpected hurdle.

Our Take:

Okay, NOW it’s getting interesting. I am a sucker for stories where a weapon or item chooses the wielder. Eventually, it always leads to something cool in my eyes. Musashi might have more in common with that creepy bad dude from a few episodes ago though and I don’t know if that’s a good sign. But if it means he can be a Bushi and wield Kitetsu Blades then I’m all for it. See, Bushi need Kitetsu Blades to defeat Oni, it’s the only weapon that can slice through their horn.

The worldbuilding and characters are starting to get a little better. The show hasn’t been bad by any means but just felt like it was missing something and I think we are about to get to that missing thing. Kojiro is coming out ahead at the moment but I wouldn’t count Musashi out just yet.
