English Dub Review: How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom “Ahead, I see No Ancestors; Behind, I Find No Followers”
Overview:
On the last night of the year, Souma is called by the previous king, Albert to speak with him and Queen Elisha. Albert reveals a stunning truth. Once Souma knows “everything”, he is left with much in his heart to consider.
Our Take:
I completely understand that stories take setting up and that can lead to things being a bit slower. That is definitely what happened in this second half. The beginning was so good and interesting and the second half was all fallout and dealing with that. While interesting to some, it might not keep the attention of most. But then you get the revelation in this episode.
You see, good ole King Albert knew what Souma could and probably would do. His wife has the ability to share memories with the past version of someone. This means that Albert KNEW what would happen essentially. This opens a lot of things up and could lead to some interesting things in the future. The best part of the episode had to be Souma finally admitting his feelings for Liscia before any of the other girls. I don’t know how all that works or will play out but hopefully, it can be handled in a tasteful way. The season review for this one is going to be interesting so stay tuned.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
