Review: Family Guy “Hard Boiled Meg”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
Meg meets a guy named Seymour who moonlights as a criminal. Meg just wants a boyfriend, but it seems Seymour just wants a getaway driver. Chris gets wind of Meg and Seymour’s plan for a big heist and tries to talk Meg out of it.
After the guys go to VR World, Quagmire gets the hiccups and it stresses him out to no end. Quagmire eventually asks Peter to kill him to end the pain to which Peter obliges. Eventually, Quagmire’s cat scratches him thereby curing the hiccups, but Peter is hell-bent on killing Quagmire. As luck would have it, Meg crashes into Peter stopping him from killing Quagmire. Chris takes the fall and we learn that Meg imagined her whole ordeal as a result of an E.coli outbreak that is infecting the mustard packets she’s inhaling. Or maybe this was a Family Guy episode being played in a VR simulation.

Our Take
I know we’re supposed to turn the channel for Meg episodes, but I always find them to be the most well-done. It’s almost like a yearly special episode that we even get to see the Mila Kunis-voiced character. In any event, “Hard Boiled Meg” is pretty damn great. Featuring Zachary Levi as Seymour, the entirety of the show’s plot was well though out with a great twist-ending. I mean sure, we just turned Meg into Tyler Durden, but the car chases were so action-packed I really didn’t care.
The cutaways were also pretty hilarious with big-time kudos going to the Bill Belichick bits, B12 shot, and the Jeffrey Epstein scenes that helped break up the show. Quagmire’s transition from being a constantly horny bastard to a day player is pretty much complete save for a quick throwback condom joke during Quag’s funeral, a fact that may annoy the long-timers, but this week’s episode proved that the producers still know how to churn out the good stuff.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
