Review: Fairview “Moral Anarchy”
Overview
After Pastor Marv catches Ashley engaging in deviance inside church, Kelly and the gang lead a campaign to bring morality back to Fairview. Meanwhile, Todd gives Ashley more direction in her life.
Our Take
Two producers for Fairview just got a new overall deal at CBS Studios and one of them just became the head of CNN, but even with all of these impressive accolades on a series that also features RJ Fried and Stephen Colbert, Fairview manages to stay very much on the long journey to the middle of adult animation fare. This week’s episode focuses on the conservative population that prefers content approved by the Parents Television Council and how much of it is infused with religious BS that should have been long snuffed out long ago.
The irony is that the show didn’t focus on another extreme religion that is causing content to become less and less challenging, that being the religion of the “social justice warrior”. We’ll get into this more in our season review, but Fairview often just focuses on the extreme right’s ridiculous views on everyday topics and not the extreme left’s, both of which are just as dangerous as the other. The same conservative watchers that Fairview is teasing in the the season finale showcase extreme takes that aren’t unlike those that have gone after the likes of Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, and Joe Rogan on controversial views. The writers of Fairview have comfortably taken a lane on the points they are trying to take, as a result, you get low ratings and Comedy Central not even wanting to air your reruns starting next week. South Park takes chances and that’s why the show has lasted 25 seasons.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
