Review: Fairview “Crime Spike”
Overview
The crime spike, according to the denizens of Fairview, is the media’s reaction to the increase in inner city violence. Really, everyone’s just worried about their personal belongings and less the actual safety of people.
Naturally, Fairview PD feels the need to respond and decides to purchase jets to really ramp up the military spending of the local police in an attempt to make everyone safe. The cops have some sort of disagreement, but are able to reconcile in time for a Top Gun mock up.
Our Take
The #defundthepolice campaign is interesting because, I live in NYC, and crime has indeed risen due to efforts to try and stem some of the over-policing that has gone on. The result being increases in violence against minorities that caused so much strife that the city elected a new mayor who used to be a police officer.
Naturally, the writers at Fairview once again take a six-month ago Twitter trend and turned it onto a single joke episode that doesn’t really go anywhere. However, that doesn’t mean there weren’t some funny moments, the Fairview PD premise was pretty comical, and I’m pretty sure the town shooting up the public speaker at a local assembly hall was sort of done already by South Park, but still pretty funny.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
