English Dub Review: Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon “Zero’s Wish”

Overview:

Setsuna stops Towa from killing Zero. Rin’s curse cannot be lifted unless Zero lets go of her regrets. Sesshomaru gives Moroha the Black Pearl.

Our Take:

After over a month with no new episode, Yashahime is finally back. It felt like we were trapped just like Rin was and would never get out. With the Funimation/ Crunchyroll merger, there have been almost no delays in dubbing things at the moment so I was surprised this went as long as it did without one. But now that it’s back I imagine it will be pretty consistent.

Mostly we have been focusing on Towa and Setsuna’s parents and now it looks like some of the focus will switch to Moroha with this arc wrapping up. That’s no problem for me because I still think Moroha is the more interesting character of the three leads. I am starting to like Setsuna more and this episode helped with that as well. One thing I really liked was we got some insight into why Zero is the way that she is. It’s usually pretty boring when villains are bad just to be bad so I was glad that wasn’t the case. I am glad that Yashahime is back and I look forward to where we go from here.
