Our Take
Things definitely look bleak for Bisco & Milo, as the battle to defeat Governor Kurokawa begins. As expected, Kurokawa is a formidable foe, being more than just a government guy with a gun. When Milo confronts the evil bastard, he isn’t the type to just go unprepared and predictably had a few tricks up his sleeve. But of course, none of his tricks ended up completely working out, even Bisco showing up at a great time wasn’t enough.
Also, the big reveal of Kurokawa’s past and his true intentions isn’t too surprising if you realize how resistant his airship was to Bisco and Milo’s arrows from the previous episode, which foreshadowed this as he likely had knowledge on how to neutralize the effects of certain arrows fired by Mushroom Keepers. On the subject of mushrooms & arrows, It’s funny the random types of mushrooms this show comes up with that have super specific effects. Like a “puppet mushroom” that was revealed in this episode which may sound ridiculous on paper, but then you realize there are legitimate types of fungus out there that affect the brain and body functions of ants, so why not people? In theory, that’s some crazy shit to have…
Overall, it seems crazy how much the stakes have escalated so damn fast. I thought this was going to be a much longer adventure-type story with world-building. Instead, it feels like a major climax that could end the show. Josh Putnam really stole the show in this episode as Kurokawa. He’s got a decent voice for such a despicable character and I love that this episode gave him plenty of time to chew up the scenery as such a scheming Machiavellian-type in a plethora of ways. And with the way things have ended, It knew to get suspenseful when the situation called for it…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
