English Dub Review: Sabikui Bisco “Companions and Prey”

Overview

With the information obtained from Tetsujin Town, Bisco and Milo continue to head north. As they make their way through Shimobuki Prefecture, the land encased in snow, they encounter Tirol, nearly frozen to death. With Tirol’s aid, the two continue their journey toward their final destination – Konakidani, the land said to contain the mythical Rust Eater Mushroom…
Our Take

So, now that they moved with the info from the previous town, Bisco and Milo proceed to their next destination. This time in the cold snow wilderness, and finding Jellyfish a.k.a Tirol frozen in ice, getting some of their stolen items back. It also seems that Tirol’s fate intertwines with Bisco and Milo. Their short reunion turned journey, and while Tirol and Bisco constantly bicker with Actagawa not having any of it which gave me a chuckle at least.

Next, we have a battle with a squid monster of oil (It’s even weirder when you say it out loud) as they traverse on a train, and now we’re in a boss battle of sorts with a giant snake monster that can fly and some creepy design details such as human fingers and feet. I’m always amazed by the weird-ass shit Anime can conjure up even if it’s nightmare fuel sometimes. Hopefully, Milo can convince Pawoo that Bisco isn’t the enemy so she can help with the pipe snake, but for now, it looks like a double boss battle!

Overall, while the show still feels more like a set of disjointed set pieces with some world-building here and there, this was one of the better episodes so far. Tirol was much better on this appearance than her previous one, I also loved to love the fact that she and Bisco keep fighting with each other, but it’s nowhere as mean-spirited as Pawoo’s attitude towards them at the end who possibly picked the worst time and as usual, is out for blood for Bisco…
