English Dub Review: Orient “Choosing Tomorrow”

Overview:

Musashi and Kojiro are forced to find a way to escape the Kosameda Castle prison, while Tsumugi is trapped between her desire to protect her friends and the commands of her domineering father.

Our Take:

Something tells me these first five episodes were all set up. Tsugumi seems to be just as much the main character as Musashi and Kojiro. So to say Orient is slow starting would be an understatement. But I do like where it’s going and think it could end up being interesting.

To be honest, though it feels very typical shounen style. Nothing super crazy different and follows all the normal things you would expect in a show like this. What that means is it’s going to take some standout characters to make it interesting and we just aren’t there yet. There are some hints of romance brewing but for now, it’s just teasing but that girl was blushing hard. Tsugumi might be the most interesting character so far because she had a lot of adversity to overcome in this episode and she did. Probably a little too quick sure but still it was development and I can get behind that.
