Review: Family Guy “The Lois Quagmire”
Overview
Lois gets invited to a high school reunion set in Newport but is too embarrassed to bring Peter so she invites Quagmire instead. The problem is that Quagmire has always had a thing for Lois and a number of ongoing events seems to indicate that maybe there were some ulterior motives here. While at the actual high school reunion, Quagmire becomes a hit with Lois’ former classmates and soon the giggity prince nabs a cocktail waitress which annoys Lois to no end. Eventually, the two talk it over and Lois remembers that this is all her fault because she should’ve brought Peter from the onset.
Meanwhile, while Lois is out of town, Peter orders pizza for the rest of the family for dinner. Upon delivery, the pizza delivery guy dies on the Griffin crown. To avoid suspicion, the Griffins decide to complete the rest of the pizza deliveries with Meg acting as the delivery guy with the final stop being back at their own home. Lois gets home in time to see her family try and attempt to stuff the pizza guy down the sewer, and she couldn’t be happier.

Our Take
After nearly two months away, Family Guy is back and we’re staring down the pike of more than a few episodes. To kick things off for the Winter 2022 return, “The Lois Quagmire” is rather typical “spousal” fair that we’ve seen from the show. A couple of twists here and there, but nothing too out of the ordinary. By far the funnier of the two plots was the “B-plot” featuring the Griffins working together in an attempt to dump a body. That is classic Family Guy that I think could’ve very much been an “A-plot”. I’m always in awe at some of the dialogue whenever Meg becomes a bit more of a focal point. No, this isn’t a Meg episode, but she’s a big part of it and she’s hilarious.
Last, but not least, the cutaway gags are about as solid as they’ve been all season. Tons of shots at celebrities including Quentin Tarantino, the cast of Succession, and the co-stars of The Quiet Place franchise are all had here, and even an ol’ fashioned stinger directed squarely at Rebel Wilson that may have become a slightly bigger story had it not been for world events.
Solid episode of Family Guy, nothing mind blowing, but the pieces were in place for a solid comeback.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
