English Dub Review: The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat “Battle of Assassin”

Overview

The Goddess has been summoning and reincarnating a broad range of people in order to stop the Hero from destroying the world, but they all seem to have ended in failure. However, all the reincarnations that had been conducted until now were for the purpose of gathering data. With the data she has gathered, she summons the person most likely to stop the Hero.

Our Take

Coming from the last episode, Lugh has saved Dia and everything seems to be fine for a while until the major threat appeared in front of Lugh who looks incredibly strong and Lugh has no other choice but to face him. Of course, to put it mildly, Lugh always has a trick up his sleeve…

In response to the whole “Goddess” subplot, it wasn’t much of a twist, but as it turns out, The setup from previous episodes paid off. With the reveal of why Lugh’s existence matters so much to the Goddess right now, and why she’s so eager to roll the proverbial dice with him. This leads me to think that the Goddess is plotting some ulterior motives and will attempt to manipulate things behind the scenes.

The season finale was decent, and the post-credits cliffhanger was a respectable way to leave things open for a possible Season 2. The only problem I had was the messy CGI which only showed up a few times so it didn’t bother me too much. All the characters are pretty likable in their own ways. Yet on a personal level, I didn’t care much for the whole Lugh-Dia dilemma and relationship over after that weird-ass twist last episode of Dia technically being Lugh’s cousin. Thankfully the harem element didn’t take center stage for too long. And after that post-credits scene, I wholeheartedly look forward to Season 2!
