English Dub Review: The Heike Story “The Impermanence of Worldly Things”
Overview:
Biwa witnesses the final clash between the Heike and the Genji. In the aftermath, Biwa sets out to tell the Heike’s story.
Our Take:
This should really be called “Suicide: The Anime” because good lord is there a lot of it. So if that is something that triggers you, you might want to steer clear of this one. I’m not exaggerating either, pretty much everyone does and really gives the story of the Heike a real air of melancholy.
I suppose that’s the problem with historical pieces. The story spoilers are a simple google search away because it’s about events long past. But just cause we know how something ends doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching. Also, I would say most of us western anime watchers know next to nothing about the Heike, and getting to see their story in some form is still really great. I think that their story getting told is really great and Science SARU did a great job bringing it to life.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
