English Dub Review: The Heike Story “Dan-no-ura”

Overview:

Having discovered her purpose, Biwa returns to the Heike to witness events play out. The final clash between the Heike and the Genji approaches.

Our Take:

These last few episodes have taken on a considerably darker tone than the previous episodes. Just how many drowning suicides are we going to witness? My intuition tells me that there will be more suicides before this is all over. This series has made me want to read The Heike Story. But I feel like we are in for a super tragic ending with only Biwa there to witness the aftermath.

I feel like some of these reviews are getting on the short end. It’s a good show but it doesn’t do anything too special either unless you are super into historical dramas with a  slight supernatural twist, which luckily I am. But I understand if it’s not your thing but no historical record is usually complete so seeing how shows like this fill in the missing pieces is a lot of fun.
