English Dub Review: The Faraway Paladin “Renowned Glory”

Overview:

Will is summoned to meet with Ethelbald, the lord of Whitesails, who refers to him as the “Wyvern Slayer.” He offers to gather private soldiers so he can stop the damage caused by all the beast attacks in the area. Will’s sudden proposal earns a cold reaction at first, but after a closer look at Will, Ethelbald grants him permission. So Will enters the Whitesails tavern in search of reliable allies.

Our Take:

Other than Will annoyingly saying the name of the show this was a good episode. It was eye rollingly cringey, it didn’t even really make sense for the situation but I guess they wanted to fit it in for some reason. The only other annoying thing I’m noticing is how many of the VA’s get recycled. I keep hearing Lucien Dodge and Cristina Vee in multiple characters. I get that it’s a part of the industry but at least try and make it a little less obvious.

I am really excited to see where this goes with Will and the other characters he might recruit. Also, we might have gotten a sneak peek at a love interest with Bishop Bagley’s “daughter”. Seems like she might be into Will but we will see if she eventually joins the party. I really think this is just getting started and the second season should be something to really look forward to.
