English Dub Review: She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man “‘I’m Reborn!'”

Overview

Upon returning to town after the events of the previous episodes, Mira and her party discovers the place is overrun with zombies. Later, Mira runs into another player stuck in the game…

Our Take

The first part of the story moved at such a brisk pace, as the battle felt too easy for Mira and her Valkyries as well. For the child character known as “Tact” who’s had a minor role in the previous episodes, tried to take the first steps into becoming a mage, his progress is a good start while both Mira and the guild part ways.

Much like Mira, Cyril is a former player of Ark Earth Online who’s been trying to log out of the game and reached Mira in an effort in recruiting her, and his story was somewhat compelling in the sense that he taught characters who normally would be NPC’s how to fend for themselves. And of course, he suspects Dunbalf within Mira, which was quite perceptive of him.

Overall, this was a passable episode. Nothing much to say other than it had two genuinely funny moments, and it Didn’t have a Mira bathroom scene for once which was also refreshing. What keeps me from giving this a higher rating however is that it suffers from a serious priority problem. The fact that actual players are unable to log out should be a big deal and the main topic as soon as it was discovered. Instead, Mira went on a carefree adventure and worried about her appearance, only to be thinking about logout seriously when facing another player? Hopefully, the next episode will touch upon this later on…
