English Dub Review: She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man “‘I Am the Strongest!'”

Overview

Continuing her quest to find Soul Howl, Mira heads to Alcait Academy. There, she finds that the evocation magic she uses to summon spirits is no longer as respected as it once was…

Our Take

So it’s about time Mira visits the underground archive place. But before that, Mira goes on a side-quest of sorts when she sees what’s new within the magic academy tournament. The magic teacher Hinata who teaches evocation magic expresses that there are not many students under her belt, and Mira looks set to be her excellent student to enter this Mage Arts Review where the best Department in the Academy gets to access the school’s most prestigious features. As usual, aristocrats like Caerus Berling are a common sight in Mira’s eyes, and this bullying is no different.

The other departments do hold their own within the proceedings of the tournament, but the real surprise lies with Mira to summon yet another being: Diva Leticia, which she refers to Mira as her Maestro. That did an ovation record, but in order to prove it, there’s none more than a duel to settle it, and this is easy-peasy for Mira as the Sage to summon multiple Dark Knights to scare his jealous ass off.

Overall, for what basically felt like a “filler” episode, this was an interesting competition yet it was a bit predictable. This whole episode was just basically Mira showing off how godlike her powers are, and would do anything to promote summoners. I also found it pretty funny that she can’t escape the eye of a certain individual, who was quick to figure out who she is despite making an effort to hide her real identity. But hopefully, this episode serves an actual purpose in later episodes when she’s back to the mission at hand.
