English Dub Review: Platinum End: “Two Lights”
Overview: Mirai (Alejandro Saab), Saki (Laura Post) and Nanato (Andrew Kishino) go for a last ditch effort to take down Metropoliman (Griffin Burns) and stop the reign of terror he intends to inflict upon the Earth.
Our Take: At long last, Mirai and Kanade finally decide to stop gazing lovingly in each other’s eyes long enough to finally finish their confrontation. Pacing aside, to give credit where it is due, Mirai continues to effectively display that he can do more than just rant about happiness. His continued cleverness of using Angel rules to his advantage continues to surprise with their ingenuity. This time it presents itself in Mirai impending Metropoliman’s vision with his wings, making him unable to use arrows or see, while with Saki, restraining him.
This gives Nanato his time to shine and his final one at that with him using the last of his last dying breath to kill Metropoliman once and for all. Throughout his entire reminiscing of his motivation, there was a nail-biting anxiousness due to how prolonged it was, feeling as if there was going to be an ‘aha’ moment that would predictably turn the tables in Kanade’s favor. Thankfully, there were no face-palming irritations and Nanato received a proper ending, accomplishing his mission by saving his family from Metro.
When Metrpoliman does indeed bite the bullet, both literally and figuratively, there are varying reactions that set the mood for our characters moving forward. However, not in Nanato’s case as he feels nothing but sheer satisfaction on account of him killing Kanade, highlighting one of his greatest traits in his resolve and how he differs from Mirai and Saki. On paper, the Christ imagery that is used to show how akin He is to Nanato may sound on the nose but surprisingly works well in how well executed and compelling Mukaido is, making for a beautiful send-off for the caring father and husband.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
