English Dub Review: Odd Taxi “The Eccentric Driver”;”How To Spend a Long Night”

Our Take:

This was one of my favorite shows last year and I was concerned if the dub would be up to the task. But I can tell you that all of the worries were relieved with these two episode drops. From what I can tell Crunchyroll will be releasing two episodes a week until the finale. I bet there might be one or two weeks where we don’t get episodes but still it’s something to look forward to! This anime really lends itself to that as well because with the mystery vibes you’re going to want to get right to the next one.

As far as the animation goes it’s solid. The character designs are good and seeing the different animals and how they fit in with this world is really cool. I really like how the backgrounds stand out almost like an oil painting. One thing I really, really, really want to shout out from the dubbing team is how they dubbed most of the songs! This show has a pretty good soundtrack and the music is really good so I was pleasantly surprised to hear that.

The voice actors they chose for this are very good so far and do a good job of bringing out the same idea of the characters as their sub counterparts. Mike McFarland as Odokawa is great and one of my favorite characters was Shirikawa and Lauren Landa does fantastic as her so far.

I think everyone will love this show as much as I did and I love that it’s getting dubbed so more people can see it. Hopefully, it keeps up this quality from a dub standpoint but I can promise you that so far Odd Taxi is very much worth your time.
