English Dub Review: My Dress-Up Darling: “It’s Probably Because This Is the Best Boob Bag Here”
Overview: Marin (Amanda Lee) and Gojo (Paul Dateh) go out to their first cosplay event together and things get out of hand when Marin has a wardrobe malfunction.
Our Take: Getting to show off her Shizuku-tan transformation in all it’s cute glory, Marin’s gleeful enthusiasm at seeing all her favorite characters brought to life is a joy to watch. A sentiment that is not necessarily shared by Gojo due to his social anxiety that continues to be a psychological barrier, besides an emotional one.
Marin’s pure happiness at her cosplay, and others’ admiration of it, is making Gojo come to a realization. However, before Gojo’s epiphany comes to light, Marin experiences a wardrobe meltdown, literally. This is due to her special bra to give her boobs that extra girth as well as the heavy nature of the fabric Gojo picked out leaving her a hot mess. And sweet mother of God did the animators take that to heart because every drip and every jiggle is on full display. One can’t help but reluctantly praise the ingenuity of their fan service even if the horny police have me dead to rights. Marin’s adorable air-headedness only makes it more unbelievably funny yet embarrassing for Gojo in her euphoric sounds at being cooled off, not to mention being oblivious to her dress fluttering revealing more skin underneath it. One nice little touch is also the tattoo she gets inspired by Shizuku-tan showing just how important the character is to her, if it was not apparent already.
Marin and Gojo’s train ride home continues to show how sweetly their chemistry and affection is growing for one another. However, it also feels just how Wakana feels about Marin in being in awe of her overwhelming beauty. Something that Marin understands must come from the heart, if it is coming from Gojo at all. What comes from her heart remains to be seen, but if her blushing demeanor is any indication, then it’s time to smell the roses because love has blossomed anew ladies and gents.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
