English Dub Review: Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro “Senpai, Want to Go to the Festival?/ It’s Like a Date, Huh, Senpai?/ Let’s Go Home, Senpai’
Overview:
The summer festival is coming up. Senpai is expecting Nagatoro to invite him, but that’s not how either of them ends up going.
Our Take:
It almost had me, folks. For a second there I thought we might have a good episode. There were some good and cute romance moments and Senpai started showing some backbone. But they had to ruin it with poor animation and using the word “hentai” more than actual hentai.
Believe it or not the poor animation and hentai references kind of go hand in hand. There were two guys who tried to hit on Nagatoro and her friends and they had no faces animated for them. They looked just like some hentai protagonists that I kind of had to question whether I started watching the wrong show.
A bad episode or not it was still nice to see Senpai start to show a little assertiveness. I hope this is a springboard for him to grow a bit but something tells me that won’t happen. Don’t want to get my hopes up too much for this show. Just a tiny bit over halfway there and I can recommend about ten shows better than this one but luckily there is still time for it to get a little bit better.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
