English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “Judgment”
Overview:
Caught off guard by Marley’s surprise attack, Eren fends off their Titans alone. As the battle rages on above, the Scouts consider Eren’s motives from the underground dungeons.
Our Take:
This was a long wait for me. The first part of the final season had the biggest cliffhanger in anime history. The scary thing is I might only be overexaggerating by a bit because Attack on Titan I think is part of what has elevated anime closer to mainstream status. To say that I am looking forward to this one is an understatement.
Eren was not in the best predicament when we last left him and things have not improved much. But Eren definitely has more badass protagonist swagger than he used to. I do wish he didn’t get his ass kicked as much as he does but I like to think Eren has something up his sleeve. It’s also nice to see that Armin still believes in Eren, after what happened near the end of the last season I was worried that friendship was fractured beyond repair. I also don’t believe that Levi is really in as bad a state as we are led to believe but I guess we’ll find out soon.
On the voice acting front there weren’t too many big standout moments in this one but there was something interesting. Clifford Chapin voices Connie Springer in the dub and he does a great job. The main thing I noticed though was that he definitely channeled his work as Bakugo in this one. It was a little jarring, not necessarily bad or anything but it was just different.
There is one thing I absolutely HATE Attack on Titan for. The episodes fly by and almost always end on a cliffhanger. It always leaves you in suspense but believe me when I say I cannot wait to see the next episode.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
