Our Take:
The first episode, “The Round Up”, involves one of Jokey’s pranks going awry once again. This time, he gave the racing snails the ability to slither faster than the speed of light to make the snail race more exciting. The story has Jokey traveling through the forest to collect the snails with the help of Hefty and Storm. The plot and humor focus on Jokey getting what he deserves after ruining the snail race with his prank, mainly losing his clothes and being chased by the snails. It’s an amusing Jokey-centered episode that showcases that it’s better to take things slow, especially when taking the snails into account.
Its second episode, “Waffle Wednesday”, features another plot involving Chef’s food-related shenanigans. Instead of getting jealous of Brainy’s harsh critique like last week, Chef gets upset over Smurflily making better waffles than him. As a result, Chef attempts and fails to figure out her secret ingredient.
The episode somehow takes some pages from the rivalry between Plankton and Mr. Krabs, mainly Chef trying to figure out Lily’s waffle recipe. It also has a hilarious heist sequence that calls back to classic heist movies like Ocean’s Eleven. Despite being another episode that portrays Chef as a highly-sensitive food guru, it’s enjoyable for its humor and delicious waffles.
Overall, both episodes are entertaining round-ups that are as tasty as the waffles. “The Round Up” is a humorous (and fast-paced) depiction of Jokey catching fast snails. “Waffle Wednesday” is another delectable episode featuring the crazed Chef and his “code of honor”. They once again provide enough charm and slapstick to make me want seconds.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
