English Dub Review: The Faraway Paladin “Traumatic Memory”
Overview:
Menel leads Will to a village that’s being attacked by monsters. As he banishes them, he learns the gravity of the tragedies caused by the attack. Piled-up bodies and burnt houses are everywhere. Then, from their midst, a faint voice catches Menel’s attention. The voice belongs to a severely burnt young boy who has turned undead.
Our Take:
We got to delve into a little bit of why Menel is the way he is. Some of it is kind of what you would expect from a half-elf. They don’t belong amongst the elves or humans. If they do find a group of humans they can live amongst they live longer than them, cue sadness.
I’m still a little unclear on what is going on with Menel and the village that they liberated from demons. So he apparently used to live there but a lot of the people acted as they’d never seen him before. Menel has accepted the goddess Gracefeel as his umm.. savior I guess? Will acted as a proxy for it so that was kind of sweet but I wonder if Menel is going to continue to travel with Will. I would imagine so.
A minor technical thing I noticed was the voices sounded really echoey. Now in full transparency, I did watch this episode on a different TV but it was something I noticed. Not a huge deal but just something to keep an ear out for. Also, I am noticing some VA’s getting reused which is okay. I understand and it hasn’t become too bad yet but also something to keep in mind. That said I really can’t wait to see where this show goes next week.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
