English Dub Review: Heaven Official’s Blessing “Bygone Banyue Days”

Overview:

Xie Lian tries to calm down Ke Mo and asks if it was the Imperial Preceptor who was hanged over the Sinners’ Pit.

Our Take(Possible Spoilers):

This last arc is really, really good and interesting. I absolutely HATE snakes so I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been hard to watch the last few episodes. Not only are they snakes but they have scorpion tails too?! Talk about nightmare fuel, but the arc has been really good so I can deal with it.

I was going to hope that the Imperial Perceptor girl, whose name is Ban Yue, wasn’t bad. Though we still don’t know the full story so she still could be, Xie is usually a pretty good judge of character and knew her once upon a time. Speaking of that, there was mention of a Lieutenant “General” in previous episodes that were demoted for taking care of innocents. Come to find out that was Xie Lian when he was alive!

I don’t know what your biggest fears are but having a shower of scorpion snakes is definitely up there. This was the first episode of Heaven Official’s Blessing I was surprised how quickly it ended and how sad I was that it had. There are only a few episodes left and this one ended on a cliffhanger so I can only hope it ends somewhat satisfactorily.
