English Dub Review: Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro “Let’s Play Again, Senpai/ Over Here, Senpai”

Overview:

Senpai and Nagatoro get caught in the rain. She invites him over to wait for the rain to pass. Senpai sits with Nagatoro and her friends for lunch, and things get awkward.

Our Take:

This episode was definitely better. We got some softer moments from Nagatoro instead of bullying the entire time. Plus there was one time she went too far and actually apologized which was nice. That is one thing that bugs me about these bullying romance shows. The person doing the bullying never apologizes even when they go too far so seeing her do that was refreshing. Yeah, she started teasing him almost immediately after but it’s the thought that counts.

There was one scene I really enjoyed and if this show had more of those I might like it more. Senpai had to sit with Nagatoro and her friends for lunch. Nagatoro’s face, when her friends were talking about Senpai, was comedy gold, and the way she handled her friends trying to touch him was great too. Like this was one of the few times it was actually obvious that she kind of has a thing for him. Why does she? Who knows but it’s in the romance genre for a reason so we have to get there eventually right?
