‘Dune’ Animated Series In Development From Spice DAO
Spice DAO has announced that they have won an NFT auction for the rights to adapt the Dune franchise into an original animated series that will make no reference to the classic ’65 book, but will instead feature original characters and storylines that are still being developed under the umbrella of the brand name. The producers have announced that they are now in the development stage and have spoken with animation studios, producers, and others in an attempt to get this going.
Unfortunately, we’re still in the early part of this series seeing any sort of light, but Spice DAO is aiming this for a streamer and has invested millions in the Dune novel NFT to prove it. Since then, the investors have put out calls for writers and have been very active on social media in their adoration of other animation projects. That said, legal critics have noted just because Spice DAO had purchased a physical copy of the Dune book, it doesn’t mean that they have the license to create anything without the Herbert estate granting such license.
Whoops?

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
