Prime Video News: Invincible Lawsuit ; Ricky & Cricket Not Going Forward
Prime Video has opted not to move forward with animated comedy Ricky & Cricket. My sources tell me it was close, but ultimately, it was a no.
Ricky & Cricket revolves around nice guy Ricky, a down on his luck Mexican-American actor, who starts taking control of his life with the help of Cricket — a brash, foul-mouthed guardian angel from the east side of heaven.
Show star Steven Yeun is touting a “bonkers” season two of Amazon Prime’s Invincible, but Robert Kirkman is in potential hot-water with a former producer. William Crabtree, an artist on the comic book series ‘Invincible,’ alleges Kirkman swindled him out of profits by duping him into abandoning his copyright.
According to THR, Crabtree claims to have co-created the Invincible comic book, but Kirkman convinced him to hand over his copyright and forego an oral agreement where Crabtree would get a 10% cut on all profits generated from Invincible’s movies and TV shows. We have reached out to Kirkman for comment, but have not heard back.
Invincible animation studio Skybound Animation recently named Marge Dean as the head and Image Comics recently became the first independent comic publisher in the country to be unionized.
Our Take

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
