English Dub Review: The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat “Deal of Reincarnation”

Overview

Lugh accepts the proposal from the mysterious Goddess, which then causes him to reincarnate in another world. He’s going to have to get used to his new life…

Our Take

The introduction has been finished setting everything up. His choosing of such skills should also be intriguing, considering how it affects clear the mission. The goddess sure had her own eccentric ways. However, I still don’t trust the goddess. She’s somewhat suspicious to me. Other than that, this episode seemed more focused on Lugh and his being born as an assassin in this new world.

There were also some weird scenes added in, like his father examining his body while he is naked, or his mother holding him on her breasts which I’m guessing is something that the anime added for the sake of sleazy fan service.  At the very least I like the mental maturity that’s contrasted with the serious assassin stuff with his father and then his hilariously goofy mother which helped lighten the proceedings a bit.

Overall, this episode wasn’t very action-oriented but helped set up future episodes which is fine I guess. The presentation feels flat, but it could be interesting when he learns to use magic and other skills in combination with each other yet that remains to be seen…
