English Dub Review: The Duke of Death and His Maid “The Duke, Alice, and the Christmas Eve Vow”

Overview:

It’s Christmas Eve, and the Duke’s friends and family are planning to gather at his mansion for a Christmas party. The gang’s all going to be there: Alice, Rob, Cuff, Zain, and Viola. But when Walter sees Viola depart he decides to tail her…

Our Take:

With this episode, I am kind of thankful for all of the dub delays. With those happening we got this Christmas Eve episode actually around Christmas time! What an episode it was too! It was so adorable and fun and enjoyable.

I love how far the Duke has progressed with all of his relationships. Once he was all alone except for Rob but look at our boy now! He threw a Christmas party and Alice, Viola, Rob, Cuff, and Zain were all there. One thing you might recall is I love character progression and this show is a prime example of that.

It was also nice to find out that Zain actually does have feelings for Cuff. What was not nice was the fact that a typical annoying trope got used. Zain actually told Cuff how he felt but she was somehow asleep standing up? It was very annoying from a show that has handled most everything else pretty well.

The holiday vibe for this episode could not have arrived at a better time. It was just comforting to watch and I think it will find everyone at the perfect time. The Duke of Death and His Maid is so charming and I am enjoying it a lot. I hope you all do as well and happy holidays!
