Review: The Great North “Tasteful Noods Adventure”

Ham is assigned an after-school job at a restaurant as part of “Careers Week” and gets an unexpected surprise. Meanwhile, Moon develops a crush on an older woman.
Our Take:
What can I say about “Careers Week”? It’s a fun and educational experience for students to learn how people perform their jobs. Well, at least until they try it themselves. This week’s episode sees Ham experiencing a shocking truth during his job, while Moon experiences love at first sight.
The episode follows the members of the Tobin family performing temporary jobs during their school’s “Careers Week”. Ham works at an Italian restaurant owned by Momma and Poppa, while Judy and Gill write for the Lone Moose Wind newspaper team. Meanwhile, Beef, Moon, Wolf, and Honeybee teach Bethany about the values of fishing. Unfortunately for them, the jobs they were assigned to were more than what they bargained for.
“Tasteful Noods Adventure” offered a comical yet odd depiction of what goes on behind the scenes regarding the workspace. By that, I mean pretty disgusting. This was mainly due to Ham, who discovers that Momma and Poppa have been rinsing and reusing pasta instead of making fresh ones. At least it wasn’t as gross as the other scenarios that happened, including Judy looking for a scoop and Moon’s crush on Bethany.
Aside from the restaurant’s dirty little secrets, the episode was humorously enjoyable for its oddball comedy and execution towards the plot. Ham and Judy’s storylines provided more interest in their scenarios than Moon’s. The episode showcased Ham’s struggle to expose Momma and Poppa’s heinous acts that could put people’s health at risk. At the same time, Judy is having difficulty finding a perfect scoop for the newspaper team. These two plots came together towards the end to reveal the owners’ secrets, only to find out that the restaurant is staying open. The ending with Momma and Poppa avoiding the consequences was pretty dumb, but I did enjoy Ham going nuts over rinsing pasta.
Moon’s scenario with Bethany was something that got me concerned before I started watching the episode. Thankfully, the show didn’t represent it in a tasteless and gross-out way. Instead, it envisioned Moon’s crush on Bethany in a way that’s both innocent and adorable. The Great North has a knack for showcasing situations that may seem awkward at first glance but later became delightful pieces of charm and comedy. Moon’s crush is no exception, even though its humor fell flat in some places.
Overall, “Tasteful Noods Adventure” is another delicious treat from the Tobin family. While Moon’s plot wasn’t full of love regarding its comedy, the episode has its share of tasty noodles and delightful moments to fill our stomachs. Just don’t let Noodie, the restaurant’s mascot, know that I told you about the reused pasta.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
