English Dub Review: My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X “Keith Disappeared… Part 3”
Overview
Upon learning that Keith was kidnapped, Catarina heads to the mansion that Alexander indicated to save him. The group enters the mansion even as Maria detects powerful dark magic there. After slipping past the many guards, they arrive at a hidden room, where they find Keith lying on the floor with his hands and feet bound…
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Catarina was really worried about Keith and finally learned that Keith didn’t leave on his own but was kidnapped. In this episode, we saw Catarina taking a step forward and she was ready to bring Keith back from the kidnappers. And as an added bonus, all the princes and princesses who previously fought over Caterina’s ass, along with the rest to infiltrate the mansion where Keith was held and kidnapped.
True to Catarina’s thoughts, if this was a JRPG like Final Fantasy or Shinning Force, this team would be more than perfect to navigate through there’s no time to waste in this dangerous mission. Of course, they need a plan too if they want to save Keith unscathed, and none other than Catarina is more grounded and absolute in her ability. We also got to see some action besides this show always trying to keep it a minimum.
Despite some of the good this episode actually had, the conclusion of this 3-part story felt a bit anti-climatic. When interrogating the villain in regards to where Keith is, he goes “I won’t tell them, but I will reveal my name, my position in the society, who am I to Keith, my entire narcissist backstory, etc. Only to the point where Keith actually is. With one episode left, is this the only conflict we’re having? It almost diminishes the importance of why we were supposed to give a shit about Keith despite being Caterina’s Step-Brother. Hopefully, the Season finale ends things on a stronger note…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
