English Dub Review: Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside: “Let’s Start Our Quiet Life Together”
Overview: Red (Aaron Campbell) and Rit (Dani Chambers) go shopping and later help out one of the local town’s kids, Tanta (Kristen McGuire).
Our Take: To truly enjoy a quiet life in the countryside, we need all the essential furnishing to make a home as comfy and relaxing as possible. And even better is doing that with Rit, for a double-sized bed no less. This episode smartly shows how her new evolved state of being more open has become a staple of her personality with how much she truly loves Red. It’s not even subtle anymore with how flirtatious she is but that is by no means a criticism as it was set up from their reminiscing well. The only thing now is to show more of that transition so I can fall more deeply in love with her. She’s an alluring character to watch and has sweet chemistry with Red. If he won’t marry her, I surely will.
Red failed to cement what sets him apart from the general nice guy pack in regards to protagonists. However, this episode finally gives him more mileage in that regard with how he handles himself when a bully harasses one of the local town’s children he’s friends with, Tanta. It’s the lesson Red teaches him in how Tanta dictates the kind of person he will grow up to be, no matter what influences him moving forward, with his blessing brilliantly serving as both a symbolic development and a new wrinkle in the blanket of lore with how they can alter one’s personality. Another new layer is finding just how Red is actually perceived by his old party, which (as I expertly deduced) greatly differs from what his and Ares’s narrative. With how much his former party members have built up his combat ability, especially with their grandiose titles meant to not-so-subtly build his credibility, it makes one even more curious to see the full extent of his combat ability. Red’s group dynamic is an aspect that would be served greatly from flashbacks of his hero days to better show how they came to gain the respect they’ve built for one another as well as how Ares came to a different conclusion. Just as the story begins establishing more about the world’s characters, it looks getting into high gear as it begins the process of making Red’s peaceful life a bit more lively as his companion, Denan, begins his search to bring him back into the fold.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
