“The Simpsons” Introduce A Character Who Is Also A Breast Cancer Survivor
The Simpsons is continuing to make waves in it’s 33rd season which, from a ratings standpoint, has been increasingly more successful each and every week. The show has really turned a corner from tired tropes to delving into innovative and still taboo topics that showcase why the franchise is the longest-running animated sitcom in primetime. In this case it’s when they recently introduced a new character, breast cancer survivor Wendy Sage. You’ll notice in the photo above that Wendy is a breast cancer survivor voiced by Matt Selman’s wife Renee Ridgeley whom is also a breast cancer survivor. This isn’t the first-time Renee has voiced a character, in fact, she’s even co-written one entitled “Heartbreak Hotel“. However, “Wendy” seems the most likely to make some sort of a return in the future because she has by far the most depth.

Hi, my name is Dr. Wendy Sage… my breast cancer sisters just call me Sage.
I’m a hypnotherapist and I help people transform negative ideas about themselves into appreciation and self-respect.
I like crystals, candles, indoor plants and my one remaining boob. Living out loud as a one-breasted woman is an opportunity to celebrate survivorship and honor my body for all it endured during treatment.
When faced with mastectomy, I rejected the idea that people would see my one-breasted self as shameful, ugly, “not finished” with treatment, or less feminine. I am none of those. In fact, I feel proud, smokin’ hot, and whole.
A boob is a small price to pay for more time on this amazing planet.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
