Review: 9 Years to Neptune”Final Meal”
Overview
The source of the mysterious oxygen leak is discovered: a massive valve that’s stuck open in an obscure hallway. Unfortunately, no one is strong enough to shut it off. Stuart attempts to enlist Mullen’s help to close the valve while the crew argues over what their last meal will be. In the end, the solution comes from one of the most unlikely sources…
Our Take
Given the sense of urgency, It’s quite weird that nobody bothers to think of an actual solution within 4 hours to save their own asses. But instead, what to eat. In what could be the last final hours of their dysfunctional lives, You’d think the problem like this could easily be solved with one of these fuckers wearing an astronaut outfit and fixing the oxygen leak, but I guess it’d be a much shorter episode.
Van Doren’s tactics and extreme desire to be the one in charge has reached new levels of petty bullshit when she almost sabotages Captain Mullen’s protein shakes, I’m more surprised he didn’t use the ones he had in the background first. But at the very least, we do get to see a few new bedrooms that weren’t introduced before in the previous episodes.
Overall It wasn’t perfect, remained a fun yet passable episode. Parts of it felt a bit contrived, but I can see what they were going for in making every character shine in different ways. But I hate that things are so easily forgiven because it feels unearned and realistically things aren’t so easily fixed at the end of certain episodes like the Brady Bunch or something. Realistically, that’s not how things work…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
