Review: 9 Years to Neptune “The Sandwich Thief”
Overview
RJ once again makes things problematic by demanding where his missing sandwich is and threatens to shut the mission down until he gets his answers.
Meanwhile, Kashmere is stuck trying to figure out her first boyfriend’s name in order to access her Instagram account…
Our Take
In what seems like a petty squabble escalating into something much larger, RJ being the conspiracy theorist douchebag proceeds to indirectly influence everyone around him for the worst, with the exception of Stuart of course. Kashmere’s subplot while starting out as innocuous as having to try to remember things through hypnosis, leads to a unique yet wholesome character arc for her. But what shocked me more was the amount of care & effort they put into Kashmere’s puppet design as we get to see different looks, outfits, and even hair colors which show how much care & attention is being put into the final product.
The episode also further fleshes out characters in other ways such as introducing more characters within Natalie’s circle, the reveal of key-character surnames, and even more about their pasts through a whole other comedic subplot involving a lie detector test in an effort for RJ to get his answers, though when it got to Stuart’s interrogation, It left me with more questions than answers…
Overall, it was both a solid and fun episode. It remains to be seen if this unresolved plot point will make sense in later episodes. But at the very least, we learn new things about the characters such as who they used to be before they partook in the mission along with a potential subplot involving story-setup for Stuart that hopefully will have a decent payoff…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
