Synopsis
From visionary comic book writer, artist and filmmaker Dash Shaw (Discipline), Cryptozoo is a
vibrant and fantastical animated feature following cryptozookeepers through a richly-drawn
hallucinatory world as they struggle to capture a baku, a legendary dream-eating hybrid creature.
In the visually stunning animation, the cryptozookeepers soon begin to wonder if they should
display these rare beasts in the confines of a zoo, or if these mythical creatures should remain
hidden and unknown.

Featuring the voice talents of Lake Bell (“BoJack Horseman”), Michael Cera (Superbad), Zoe
Kazan (The Big Sick), Louisa Krause (“Billions”), Angeliki Papoulia (A Blast), Thomas Jay Ryan
(Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Peter Stormare (“American Gods”) and Grace Zabriskie
(“Twin Peaks”), Cryptozoo was written and directed by Shaw, and Jane Samborski (“13 Reasons
Why”) directed and produced the animation.
